Lynn Whitfield covers Heart&Soul Magazine

Check out the beautiful and talented Lynn Whitfield gracing the cover of Heart&Soul Magazine:

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

On raising her teenage daughter Grace as a single parent:

I have an important charge to raise a strong woman who has a sense of self, and who will survive no matter what happens to me. It's a funny, odd, isolated feeling when you're the single parent. I try not to override Grace's vision for her life.

On seeking professional help and spiritual guidance to help her handle the two divorces she had from Brian Gibson and Van Whitfield:
We have no problem searching until we find the right hairdresser who can give us that perfect perm and sitting for hours waiting to get our hair done but when it comes to sorting thought what's in our hears, we don't take the time. Man will disappoint you. That's why the God relationship is so important. I'm not very much good without Him in my life.

On her dating experience after two divorces:
Dating is something that's been hard for me. I've always been a one-man type woman. Until someone stops me in my tracks with the romance, the honor, and all that comes with falling in love, I'm excited to date and have fun.

On working with Tyler Perry on the film, "Madea's Family Reunion":
Tyler is wonderful. Every black actress should adore him. He has a respect and regard for our history and tradition, the issues that we face. I love what he's doing. He's a real lover of black women. He honors us and wants to build us up.

Kelly is about to get it right!

In an interview with UK newspaper The Daily Record, R&B star Kelly Rowland confirmed that she has indeed begun work on her third solo album. That Grape Juice first reported on Kelly's plans to head back to the studio last month. Here's what the 'Like This' singer had to say of the new project:

Q: WHAT ELSE ARE YOU UP TO AT THE MOMENT?

A: I'm going back into the studio as I've just started the third album.

Q: WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO COLLABORATE WITH?

A: I want to work with will.i.am. That's the only person I have in my head right now.{Source}

Kelly, I'm rooting for your crazy behind...now get it right this time...please!!!!

Robin Thicke is Something else!

Robin Thicke is working on his third studio album, which is expected to drop this summer. BET's Sound Off recently attended Robin's recording studio for an exclusive preview of the R&B singer's upcoming new album, Something Else.

They did a track-by-track review of some of the new tracks that will make the album. When Robin isn't too busy recording his own project, he's working on others. Reportedly he's worked with Usher on his new album Here I Stand (May 27th) and Ashanti's The Declaration (June 3rd).

Check out the sneak peak preview below.SideStep- An uptempo number driven by a tantalizing bass line, Thicke’s feel good plea of receiving love from his significant other will not only put you and yours on the dance floor, but will also provide you with an old school type of confidence your parents were once accustomed to!Magic- Accompanied with a barrage of horns and an assortment of congas, “Magic” propels the image of what seems like an inside look at the perfect relationship he and his wife, Paula Patton, have!

Dream World- Painting the perfect atmosphere of what HIS world would consist of, the mellow and melodic tune will initiate the thought process of your very own “Dream World!” Whether it’s an interracial couple walking down the dirt roads of Mississippi, or informing Van Gough he’s missed, Robin covers all corners.

Sweetest Love- Describing a type of love that couldn’t get any sweeter, Thicke’s approach to this subject could easily be pegged as a female favorite.

Mr. Loverman- Any female who’s listened to at least one song from Robin’s catalog probably wonders how the R&B vet fairs as a lover. But since he’s married, you’ll have to do one of two things: listen to this song or just ask his wife Paula Patton. And since a majority of you are equipped with common sense, I’m sure you’ll be listening to the song.

Cassie the next Janet Jackson/ Britney Spears?

Though Cassie's sophomore effort is still without an affirmative title or release date (an unconfirmed date in September), her label head Diddy spoke with Billboard about the project recently:

"That's going to really, really catch people off guard," he says. "There's a huge [cry] out there for a younger Britney Spears, a younger Janet Jackson. Those two great artists have paved the way. She has a single out called 'Official Girl' and Danja produced it, and it is a smash.Cassie released her self-titled debut in 2006, which went on to sell 321,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan. Single "Me & U" peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 3 on the Hot 100. It has also sold more than 1 million digital downloads.

Diddy says Cassie has grown significantly since the debut; at one point during the promo cycle for the album, the pair used viral video to apologize for her poor performance on a radio show."I just don't think she was ready," Diddy says. "I think that we threw her into the spotlight without the artist development -- that goes on with a lot of new artists. We pulled out, we took our time, we developed her for like, a year-and-a-half. People are just going to see her there and be like, 'Wow, she's really cocooned into a butterfly.'"Although the track list isn't finalized, Cassie told Billboard earlier this year she'd worked with mentor Ryan Leslie, Seven, Mario Winans, Bryan Michael Cox, Eric Hudson, Sean C and LV on the project. "

I have to see it to believe it Diddy!

Due to the success of that album, I’m blessed to be back in the studio again working on my fourth studio album. I’ve already recorded some great songs that I can’t wait for you to hear.
